Lakeview Cabins
is a three-generational, family owned business. It was originally built
by "pep"
and Leah Rollins, in the 1950's. They were the sole Proprietors until
1970, when the business was handed down to there son and his wife, Bill
and Jane Rollins.
Bill and Jane hosted another
generation of tourists until 1999. It is now operated by their daughter,
Linda an Dwayne. Barton

Roger's Rangers were chased
into the Crystal Lake - Barton area. During the French and Indian War,
In 1759. It is believed that
Robert Roger explored this area at the age of fifteen, and knew to lead
the rangers here to safety. It is also believed that vicious indian raids
during his boyhood led him to play a leading role in the raid on St. Francis
in Canada, A noted Catholic Indian mission village under Jesuit control.
Historians believe the spark of the American Revolution may have begun
in the ranks of Rogers' Rangers.
At one time, there was a granite quarry on the east side of Crystal Lake.
Near the turn of the century, steamboats barged stones across the lake.
The park's beach house was made of granite quarried beside the lake. It
was constructed in the late thirties by the CCC. It has a very unusual
architectural design and received prominent recognition the year it was
built. Crystal Lake
is approximately three miles long and about one mile in width. The almost
100 foot deep cold waters is the habitat for rainbow trout, smallmouth
bass, yellow perch,
lake trout, chain pickerel and panfish. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy fishing,
picnicking, a playground and
swimming. It is a glacial lake beautifully situated among roughhewn mountain
sides. this is the
